Dear Taylor,

I still remember the first time I heard "Tim McGraw" on the radio, and I've loved you ever since. You speak to me like no other teenager can! I love "Fearless" and "Breathe," and if I were 15 years old, I would TOTALLY cry over "Fifteen". I wish that I could have had you as a role model then, instead of Britney Spears. Maybe then things would have gone differently. But that's another story!

Anyway, one of the things I love about you is that even though you are a bazillionaire, it seems like you wear the same clothes you'd wear if you weren't famous, but got a decent allowance and maybe did some extra babysitting that week. I like that.

Blake v. Leighton: Fashion Faceoff!

I know I always say this, but if you read this blog I KNOW you watch Gossip Girl. I will be the first to admit that on a Monday morning when the world seems so cold, the knowledge that a new Gossip Girl is a mere twelve hours away gives me something to live for. It is the O.C. of the mid-to-late 2000's, and just as Imogen Heap's "Watcha Say" will forever call to our memories the tragic demise of Marissa Cooper, we all remember exactly how we felt when Chuck finally admitted that he loved Blair.

On the show, the characters often look like they got dressed while blacked out on Vodka Tonics in Bergdorf's. (I'm not judging, we've all been there). But I thought it would be interesting to take a look at what they wear OFF-screen, and maybe even throw some competition into the mix. So all you Upper East Siders, who is better dressed? Is it Blake or Leighton?

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!

Some of you requested that I review the Victoria's Secret Fashion show, which gave me the perfect excuse to watch it last night when I should have been studying! My reactions to the show ranged from questioning my sexuality, to debilitating and bottomless despair, to general aesthetic pleasure and enjoyment. I was also vaguely amused by the fact that I was watching the show at home in sweatpants at 11PM on a Friday night, while stuffing my face with Cool Ranch Doritos. Liz Lemon alert! ANYWAY, the angels all looked GORG and I totally approved of Miss Kylie winning the Model Search...girl is a Smoke.Show.

Arrrrrr! Alexander McQueen Swag

Growing up, my family would vacation in the Virgin Islands, and I used to love going into the Norman Island pirate caves and hunting for treasure. I think this might be why I am OBSESSED with Alexander McQueen jewelry and clutches, especially the ones with the skulls. I DIE for the silver skull ring!

Whitney Port: I'm Sorry, You're Out.

The other day while watching the City I was struck by how terrible Whitney’s collection for Neiman Marcus was. I don’t know ANYONE who would wear that first look with the white blazer over the colorful skirt. Even though Whitney has exposure to all the top designers and is surrounded by beautiful clothes on a daily basis, she seems incapable of creating anything even remotely pleasing to the eye. Not only that, but I hate about 80% of the outfits that she wears. I’m pretty sure Heidi would have hit her with an “Auf Wiedersehen” a LONG time ago.

PS: Some of you have been telling me I need to post more frequently. Obviously you are obsessed with me, and I totally get that. But I’m in finals right now, so I'm gonna be posting less frequently for the next few weeks!

Is Kim Kardashian a Bitch?

If you read this blog, you obviously watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Just like boys love It’s Always Sunny because it’s about a bunch of dudes who work at a bar and drink all the time, girls LOVE Keeping Up with the Kardashians because it’s about three sisters who have their own clothing store and are constantly shopping.

One great thing about the Kardashians is that they are constantly creating drama, on and off the show. Recently, Khloe Kardashian issued a statement that she couldn’t believe Kim would Twitpic a picture of both of them in bathing suits without asking her first. On the one hand, this looks like a SUPER catty move. I mean, Kim obviously knows she looks skinnier here. On the other hand, maybe she thought Khloe looked good here, or just didn't think before twitpic-ing?

Run to the Hills!

I was not planning on reviewing the Hills tonight because I SHOULD be learning about vertical integration and the rule against perpetuities. BUT I don’t want to let down all you little monsters! Let’s go through this by character:

Kristin: Kristin spits mad game by preempting Justin Bobby with the “I don’t want anything serious” bomb. Since Justin Bobby is manipulative and emo, he tells Kristin he wants to make it work so that he can be the one to not call her back next season.

Heidi and Spencer: Spencer finally admits that his talk about not wanting kids was just a bunch of hot air, bringing to a close the most drawn out and inconsequential story line of all time.

Audrina: Poor, poor Audrina goes on her fifth “one last meeting” with Justin Bobby to a pier in a miniskirt and heels. He hints that he was just not that into her, and she saves face with ad hominem attacks on his character and promises that he will die alone.

Brody: Fed up with Jade’s drama, Brody decides to end things with her and celebrates with his bros. NOTE: Jade’s twitter today explains that they are still together and that the only reason she was not at the aftershow was that the producers wanted it to seem like she and Brody were still broken up. Also, Brody is “the BEST at massages :) xo”.

Well, that wraps up this season of the Hills! I was honestly pretty disappointed with this season and I'm not sure that Kristin can carry the show as well as LC did. Somewhere out there, LC is gloating as she prepares sketches for a low-end department store clothing line. Regardless, I'm excited for the next season and will definitely be tuning in.
